چکیده

In previous studies of the reactions of fluoride ion with synthetic hydroxylapatite and powdered enamel and dentin (1,2), it was thought that low concentrations of fluoride ion might be affecting the rate of recrystallization of the apatites. Neuman et al. (3) found that fluoride impregnation had no effect on calcium and phosphate exchange of glycol-ashed bone. The experiments described below were designed to study the effect of various amounts of fluoride on the phosphate exchange of various mineralized tissues and synthetic hydroxylapatite. The fluoride was introduced in the buffer solutions, and some of the tissues studied were previously fluoridated either in vitro or in viva.

Introduction: Nowadays, several casein components such as casein phosphopeptide amorphous calcium phosphate (CPP-ACP) are vastly considered as a suitable replacement for fluoride component . The aim of this study was to compare the effect of CPP-ACP paste and fluoride varnish on dentin hypersensitivity reduction. Materials & Methods: In this clinical trial study, thirty adult patients betwee...

Theories on the mode of action of fluoride in reducing dental decay.

Several properties of the fluoride ion at physiological concentrations are known which may be concerned with its actions in reducing dental caries. T h e properties that have been most thoroughly studied as a basis of the anticaries action are: (I) the incorporation of fluoride in the hydroxyapatite of the calcified tissues, both during and after their formation, thus increasing the proportion ...

Comparison Study on Casein Phosphopeptide-Amorphous Calcium Phosphate Paste and Fluoride Gel on Remineralization of Demineralized Enamel Lesions

Objective: Tooth surface undergoes continuous remineralization and demineralization. The aim of this study was to compare the effect of Caseinphosphopeptide-amorphous calcium phosphate (CPP-ACP) paste and Fluoride gel on the microhardness of demineralized enamel lesions.   Methods: Frothy eight specimens of premolar teeth were chosen and randomly divided to 4 groups of 12. After the initial m...

Ion exchanges between glass-ionomer restorative material and primary teeth components-an in vivo study

Objectives: To analyze the ion exchange between conventional glass-ionomer restorative material, (Fuji IXGC Co., Japan) and tooth components in primary molars after long periods of function in vivo. Methods: Five deciduous mandibular molars were collected after normal exfoliation. An intact deciduous molar served as control, a second deciduous molar was restored occlusaly with Fuji IX in vitro,...

The effect of sodium fluoride on the calcification of the enamel and dentin of the rat incisor.

According to SCHOUR and SMITH (1934), in ground sections viewed microscopically with transmitted light, enamel and dentin showed light (disturbed) and dark (recovery) incremental layers for each injection of sodium fluoride. IRVING (1943) injected fluoride in different doses in an attempt to estimate its effect on the basis of the amount per kilogram of body weight of the animal. Both hypocalci...
